Coronado Beach Anniversary Getaway in San Diego, CA | Ideisha+Theo
Ideisha sent me a FB message stating both her and her husband were landing in San Diego in a few hours to celebrate their 18th Anniversary and they were hoping I was available to document their special day. Luckily I was available the next day, which usually doesn't happen with such a short notice. As I later found out it was a totally spontaneous decision on their part too, they thought of booking a photographer while waiting for their connecting flight to SD. So, I guess, it was meant to be!
For their stay Ideisha and Theo picked a very charming Glorietta Bay Inn as it is located in the heart of Coronado and one block from the beach. And that's where we agreed to meet and started capturing those precious memories.
I couldn't have been happier to have met this most adorable, loving and funny couple. They left me speechless and incredibly inspired... After 18 years of marriage and raising 5 adorable kids, their love was still fresh, electric, it shined through!!! These two beautiful people were made for each other!!!
From the hotel we headed straight to the beach. They walked on the beach of Coronado holding hands as it was their first time, deeped their toes in the water and it didn't take long as they started playing like kids and splashing water on each other.
Theo was very serious as I was taking his individual portraits and my attempts to make him smile were unsuccessful, but it would take just a few seconds for Ideisha to trick him into a smile. I found it very sweet.
Of course iconic Hotel Del Coronado had to be on the list of "must capture" sights.
To wrap our session up we did our last stop to take a few last snaps and admire the stunning views of the San Diego skyline.
From there my sweet couple continued their date night and headed to a restaurant in San Diego Downtown for their romantic dinner and a fun night out.
The importance of hiring a local professional photographer on your trip.
I would encourage everyone to hire a local professional photographer. Yes, iPhones do a great job, but the truth is that most likely you'll come back home from a vacation with a million photos, but about 5 you are actually in and they are probably just your face getting squished into a frame, not the most beautiful art for your living room wall. Besides, with the local photographer, you get insider knowledge and tips. You can just relax and let someone guide the experience and capture those amazing memories for you while you live them.
Hiring a photographer for an hour or two, in the long run, will be the best decision and investment you made. Years from now you'll be looking at your gorgeous pics and they will be priceless!
If you are planning your San Diego vacation, send me a message and let's connect!
Best,
Kristina.
