Which newborn session is right for you?

There are two main types of newborn photography: Posed (Studio) and Lifestyle.

Ask different people which type of newborn baby photos they like and everyone will have their own opinion.  Some people love the artistry of a posed, studio newborn photo shoot and others love the raw, real life interaction of a lifestyle newborn photo shoot.

So I’m here to tell you that I do both! And even better news I do all of it in the comfort of your home.

Instead of having to get packed up and leave your home in your baby’s first few days of life, I come to you so that you don’t have to worry about anything. Everything you or baby may need is right there at your convenience.

Some people desire very posed, studio sessions for their newborns and I don’t blame them, I adore those perfect sleeping babies, curled and molded into baskets images, they are perfect art work for your home. So the first half of my session I would usually start with these.

From looking at the pictures, you’d never be able to tell they weren’t taken at a studio…

Being at home does give us the opportunity to capture those intimate lifestyle shots too. Which personally, I think the most heartfelt and touching lifelong memories you will have. It’s about the interactions and the love the parents feel for their new arrival. These sessions are where you can really get a true sense of family in their home. My job is to capture memories and I can’t think of a better place to capture those precious memories than baby's first home.

Using only natural light, I am able to capture light, airy photos – as well as more moody, emotional shots of you and your loving family. A part of a lifestyle sessions that I completely adore is the sibling interactions! It is so very different from studio portraits, as the older siblings are in their comfort zone.

*These all-inclusive sessions must be taken between 6-14 days of the baby’s arrival.

On the other hand I have option #2:

For those of you who have missed that window of a newborn session opportunity or simply prefer a lifestyle documentary approach, the session can take place anytime within the first 6 weeks after the baby is born. Because the sessions are focused on interaction, the baby does not need to be under 14 days old in order to ensure their sleepy, squishy bodies maintaining curled positions. I’ve had some of my favorite sessions with babies 4 weeks and older.

For as much as I love to create those perfect posed baby images, story-telling approach has a special place in my heart, I believe those images are much more emotional and personal, coz it’s your story and your baby’s first home, so every little detail matters and is so much more meaningful. Everything from rocking baby in the nursery, feeding your sweet little one, bath time, snuggling in bed, changing clothes and curling up with your swaddled baby and all of your family on the couch – I am here to tell your story in the most beautiful way!

Either you already made up your mind or still have a bunch of questions, please don't hesitate to contact me! It will be my pleasure and honor to capture your story for you and congratulations on a new addition to your family!

Hope to hear from you soon,
